Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

Bile Duct Stone

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a specialized procedure performed at the hospital to evaluate and treat problems of the bile duct or pancreas duct.  Our physicians will use a special endoscope and fluoroscopy (x-ray) to look for problems in the bile ducts (ie a stone or blockage).  In addition,  problems can frequently be removed or improved.  You will be given a deeper form of sedation for this more complex procedure.  Patients usually do not remember the procedure.
