Endoscopic Ultrasound

Up close pictures of the digestive tract and the surrounding organs can be seen using endoscopic ultrasound.  This advanced imaging technique is now available at Oak Ridge Gastroenterology.  Using a scope with an small ultrasound probe on the tip, very detailed images can be obtained.

Endoscopic ultrasound is frequently used to evaluate problems found on other tests such as a CT scan.  In addition, evaluation of external organs such as the gallbladder can be done.
